Think before you open your mouth!

With a range of people, right from ‘Godmen’ to politicians to the layman, shooting off their mouths and then ‘apologizing’; the age old saying of ‘Think before you leap’ has just acquired a new meaning viz. ‘Think before you open your mouth’!

Thinking before speaking is not a new thing, but very few people actually know it and follow this principle. A lot of controversy as well as embarrassment can be avoided by simply holding your tongue for a minute and thinking before speaking. Granted you may look like a dufus - taking your time to answer people, but not making a fool of yourself in a group certainly overshadows this small inconvenience.

Thinking too much on the other hand can have an effect of you being considered a dull conversationalist. But once people get to know your style of speaking, your inputs and words should certainly carry some weight. Sadly, in this age of fast paced living, this art of thinking is slowly dying and its practitioners are being turned into pariahs.

On the flip side, impromptu and spontaneous reactions to situations can help you out of many a tight spot. But sometimes it certainly can land you in jail. Well, I am not saying that every time you act spontaneously you will regret it, but I do believe there is a greater chance that you will end up making a fool of yourself. This is what the materialistic and shallow society of today demands from individuals and us humans, always wanting to please and ‘fit-in’, blindly follow and shoot off our mouths with no thoughts about the consequences.

Mommy , That big bad guy in the other car cut me on the road to Infy (baw)(baw) !

Infosys is full of such cry-babies!
To prove this point i'll just narrate an incident that took place today morning.
Infy Pune has a new gate for vehicles to enter the campus - gate 4.
The ROAD to that gate is a long S turn of sorts and has a decent amount of gradient. So as a rule, people tend to drive slow on this road. But hey, every rule has an exception rt ;)
As it so happens, i am that exception in this case.
So today morning , on this road, there was a car in front of me.
The driver of the car was of the cautious kind and was taking it slowly(abt 15-20 kmph). The gate was a good 220-250 metres ahead.I looked at his speed and decided that it was possible to overtake him, though there was a turn ahead.
So I overtook him easily enough and reached the line of vehicles waiting fot the security check.Just another day at office for me was about to begin.
When, to my surprise I saw a car SCREECH to a stop about an inch to my left(I half expected the tires to strt smoking :P).Surprised I looked at it & saw that it was the car that i had overtaken.
Imagine my surprise, when this guy rolled down his window and started talking and gesticulating loudly to a guard nearby. All the while he was pointing at me. So I decided to investigate. I rolled down the far window and was just in time to catch him saying 'This is Infosys!'.
I thot he was new to Pune ;), and was about to reply in the affirmative, when he noticed that I had rolled down my window.
Then, and here probable u wont believe me, the driver started LECTUIRING me on driving. Man wat a sore loser. After hearing him rant for a good minute, I understood that he was pissed coz i had overtaken him. His point was that AS THE ROAD LED TO INFOSYS IT WAS INFOSYS PROPERTY AND THAT ALL INFY RULES APPLIED TO IT ! :O and that since I was an Infoscion, so by default was educated and i shud follow rules. So i guess as i am educated I am not allowed to overtake fellow drivers on the roads! and since u r readin this , it means u too are educated(as u hv access to and r reading this blog) and so u too cannot overtake people on the roads ! :P

Then he asked for my empid and started twisting in his seat, i thot he had a fit caused by his anger, he was quite red in the face by now :P.

Finally he somehow managed to notice my empid on my icard.
He said "ur empid is XXXXXX. Ok now c wat i can do."
This line left me in splits. It seems he is going to COMPLAIN about me 'cutting him' (his words , not mine) ! What a cry-baby. So now hes going to run to his mommy and say 'mommy that big bad guy in the other car cut me on the road to Infy! Spank him, scold him. (baw)(baw)(:'()' :P

This is wat i cud make out frm his rant - Accordin to him ALL ROADS leding to Infy are Infy property and all Infy rules must apply to them. So i guess the next time someone 'cuts him' on any rd, he will prove that as that rd leads to Infy and if tht guy is an Infoscion, then he too has to follow the rule and NOT cut him!

Well i am waiting eagerly to c wat he is going to do with my empid and exactly who he is going to complain to :D

If i get anything from him i am going to post it here ASAP. :D

Lets hope he reads this ;)

I hope someone tells him that the road LEADING to Infy is NOT Infy property and that Infy rules (thousands there may be, but none for this 'scenario' :P ) do not apply to thse roads.

The Earthquake!

Yesterday @ abt 6.30 pm , I felt the remote kept next to me start to tremble .
Thought i was hallucinating , but wen i kept my feet on the ground , I realised that I was experiencing an EARTHQUAKE!
By the time this sunk in , the earthquake was over :P
The ironical part is that I was supposed to be watching the movie 2012 at the exact same time, but thanks to my (un)reliable friends, the plan was scrapped ;)
Is this an indication of whats going to happen in 2012? :P
